Public Libraries

Libraries are excellent sources for all kinds of information. Most libraries today even have computers for visitors to use for Internet access. NW Oregon is no exception, with dozens of libraries scattered throughout the area.

The operating hours of a library also can be a good indication of community pride and the amount of support that local residents are willing to invest in their own education. The fewer days that a library is open, or the shorter a library's operating days, the more likely a community may be less supportive of public needs in general. Shorter library operating schedules also may suggest that local government officials lack an appropriate emphasis on community needs.

The table below gives addresses, phone numbers and normal days of operation for most of the libraries throughout the area, along with a link to each library's web site. (Most libraries are closed on holidays.)
