In addition to offering networking opportunities for business people, a chamber of commerce can typically offer a variety of useful information to consumers and to people who may be thinking about moving. The manager or director of the local chamber will know what brochures and maps will be helpful to a prospective resident or visitor. He also likely will be knowledgeable about the local economy, as well as about the local taxation and regulatory environment.
