The criteria are:

• Complete comprehensive, REBAC-approved courses in buyer representation;
• Pass a written examination;
• Demonstrate experience by successfully representing buyers in a minimum of five real estate transactions within three years;
• Receive recommendations from two buyer clients;
• Be a member in good standing with the National Association of REALTORS®.

Less than 4 percent of all real estate licensees nationwide are certified as Accredited Buyer Representatives, and NAR adds only a small number of new designees each year.

Look for those professionals who proudly display the ABR® designation. Know that they are experts in the field of buyer representation.
